ClarityCam marking a crack in a photo Prototype screen

Your truck didn't crack that driveway. Prove it.

Concrete crews bring heavy trucks onto other people's property. When a crack shows up next to your new slab, the first question is whether it was already there.

"Your truck cracked my driveway."

Before the trucks arrive

  1. The existing driveway, approach and apron, with every crack and spall marked.
  2. The curb, gutter and sidewalk along the truck path.
  3. The lawn, edging and sprinkler heads where the truck, pump or wheelbarrows will go.
  4. The garage slab and the threshold.
  5. Fences, gates, mailboxes and anything close to the access path.
  6. The neighbor's driveway and curb if trucks will cross or park there.
  7. Utility marks and any existing settlement or drainage problems.
  8. The area to be poured, with its current condition and any hazards.

Get the homeowner to sign

The homeowner reviews the photos and signs on your phone before the first truck rolls in. Their signature is tied to the exact photos they reviewed.

After the pour

Once the forms are off and the site is cleaned up, shoot the truck path and the approach again. In After mode the app shows each before photo as a ghost, so the angle matches.

If they say you did it

  1. Ask which crack, and when they first saw it.
  2. Find it in your before photos. If it is marked there, it was there before your trucks.
  3. Send the record. The independent timestamp shows it existed no later than the stamped time.
  4. Anyone can check the evidence package at getclaritycam.com/verify.

What the record can't show

A record shows the concrete before and after your work. It cannot show what caused a new crack: weight, weather and soil all leave marks a photo cannot tell apart.

What a record proves, and what it can't

Questions

Should I photograph the city sidewalk and curb?

Yes, if your trucks cross or park on them. Damage there can come back to you too.

What about cracks that grow later?

Mark each existing crack. If it gets longer, your before photo shows where it started.

Can it prove my pour won't crack?

No. It records condition, not workmanship or how concrete will behave.

Does the homeowner need the app?

No. They sign on your phone and get a copy.
