ClarityCam: a shot checklist in the camera Prototype screen

Return the skid steer without the surprise bill.

Rental yards bill for damage, missing fuel and extra hours. A pickup walk-around with the gauges in frame settles most of it before it starts.

"That leak happened on your rental."

At pickup, before it leaves the yard

  1. All four sides, with the whole machine in the frame.
  2. The hour meter and the fuel gauge, close enough to read.
  3. Tires or tracks, and bucket teeth, cutting edges and forks.
  4. Hydraulic hoses and cylinders, and the ground underneath once it has sat for a minute.
  5. Glass, mirrors, lights and the cab.
  6. Attachments, keys and manuals that came with it.
  7. For trailers: the hitch, chains, lights, tires and deck.
  8. Every existing dent, crack or leak, marked.

Get the counter to sign

Ask whoever checks it out to sign on your phone. Their signature is tied to the exact photos they reviewed.

At drop-off

Shoot the same angles and the hour meter again where you park it, and the ground underneath. In After mode the app lines each shot up with your pickup photo.

If they say you did it

  1. Ask which damage, hours or fuel they are charging for, and their photos.
  2. Send your pickup photos with the damage already marked, and the gauges as you found them.
  3. Point to the independent timestamp: the record existed no later than the stamped time.
  4. The yard can check the evidence package at getclaritycam.com/verify.

What the record can't show

A record shows the machine as you photographed it. It cannot show how it was run, or damage inside the engine or hydraulics that no photo can see.

Questions

I run a crew. Is this part of the pilot?

Yes. Contractor crews come first in the pilot. Join below and tell us your trade.

Does it work if I rent my own equipment out?

Yes. It works the same in both directions: shoot it before it leaves and when it comes back.

Who should sign?

Whoever checks the machine out or in. If nobody is there, the dated photos still stand.

Can it prove I didn't overwork the machine?

No. It shows the gauges and the condition at pickup and drop-off, not how it was used in between.
